Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 July 2026
The Merge PDF extension collects nothing. It does not transmit your documents, your file names, or any information about you or your device to us or to anyone else.
Your documents
PDF files you add are read from your computer, combined in your browser's memory, and written back to your browser's downloads. That is the entire journey. Your files are never uploaded to a server, never stored by the extension, and never seen by us.
Closing or reloading the workspace tab discards everything. The extension keeps no history of what you merged.
Network activity
The extension makes no network requests. The PDF engine it uses is bundled inside the extension itself, so there is nothing to fetch at runtime. It works with your network disconnected.
You can verify this yourself: open the workspace, press
F12, select the Network tab, and perform a merge. Every entry
you see will be one of the extension's own bundled files, served from
chrome-extension://.
Permissions
The extension requests no Chrome permissions at all. It cannot read the pages you visit, your browsing history, your bookmarks, your cookies, or anything in other tabs. Chrome shows this on the install screen.
What we do not do
- No analytics or usage tracking of any kind
- No cookies or other local identifiers
- No accounts, sign-in, or email collection
- No advertising and no advertising networks
- No third-party scripts or services inside the extension
- No selling, sharing, or transferring of data — there is no data to sell
This website
The extension and this website are separate. This site is static and contains no analytics, no cookies, and no tracking scripts.
It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which — like any web host — processes standard request information such as IP addresses in order to serve pages and protect against abuse. We do not have access to a per-visitor analytics dashboard, and we do not build profiles from it. This is entirely separate from the extension, which makes no requests to this site or anywhere else.
Children
The extension is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Since it collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Changes to this policy
If the extension ever gains a feature that changes any of the above — for example, an optional paid tier that needs to check a licence — this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the change will be described plainly rather than buried. The date at the top will reflect any revision.
